ADD/ADHD

Rick Allen
Motivational Speaking for ADD/ADHD

Why hear about Attention Deficit Disorder/ADHD?

The general public may have little knowledge or misconceptions about ADD and the people that have it.
In my program I will:

  1. Identify ADD symptoms
  2. Explain what it may be like inside the ADD/ADHD mind.
  3. Help you to work with people that have ADD/ADHAD
  4. Help the ADD/ADHAD person to not just cope but to improve their situation

Instead of distancing and splintering your group because of differences, this understanding will enable them to bond more cohesively. Accentuating everyones strengths will help lead to improving productivity and reaching a common goal. Learning about ADD all ADDs up to more success!

ADD??
It's estimated that 17 million people have Attention Deficit Disorder in this country. It's the single most common learning problem in children and one of the most common problems with adults. You or someone you know could have some form of ADD or ADHD and not even be aware. Their brains have either suffered injury or were already affected before birth. Many of these people have problems that lead to job failures, relationship breakups, loneliness, drug abuse and a tremendous sense of underachievement. You may have experienced difficulties on the job or at home with ADD people and not been aware. As frustrating as it may be for you to get along with people with ADD/ADHD, just think what they're going through, especially if they don't even know what they have or how to improve their situation! Well, I know what it is and how to make it better, first hand. Remember, it all gets back to knowledge and awareness. Once you're equipped with the tools of knowledge, you can help yourself, either treating ADD/ADHD, or treating the ADD/ADHD person and yourself with more understanding and compassion.

WHY RICK?
When I was a kid we were just B-A-D, they didn't know from A-D-D. I had so much energy, and I wanted to get attention and talk, talk, talk! (Little did I know I was preparing for my future occupation)

However, many kids with ADD have problems in school, social situations and at home, which can lead to drugs, crime, even a shortened life. It's like the wiring in their brains is not making all the right connections and they try to compensate in other ways. When I was a child, I had the ability to use my imagination to take me away from the things I couldn't deal with. Necessity is the mother of invention. This creativity is a positive! Some very famous people have ADD and have come up with some great innovations.

As an adult, I recognized it was a struggle to perform some tasks that seemed easier for others. Much of the time it was a battle in my own mind. I wanted to know exactly what was so creepy in my cranium, so I went to see Dr. Amen in California for a brain scan. It was confirmed that my brain scan was "quite impressive". Unfortunately, many of the really severe brains may not even be functioning well enough to get them scanned and helped. Amen recommended a protocol for treatment that I followed along with advice from other experts. So I managed to help myself by feeding my brain education, the right nutrition and a non-drug homeopathic remedy. WOW, what a difference, to know what it is and learn how to improve your daily life.
